Watch it sink.

A small live timer that floats over Instagram, YouTube — any app you open too often — and counts while you scroll. It never blocks you. It just makes sure you know.

Ask anyone how long they spent on Instagram today and they will guess low. The phone knows the real number; it just never says it out loud. Sunk shows it to you while it happens.

The pill

One number.
Always true.

Open Instagram and a small pill appears in the corner, counting up from zero. Not a guess from yesterday — the clock running right now, over the app itself.

01

It counts the visit

00:00 the moment you open the app. Put the phone down and it pauses. Leave the app for more than five seconds and the next open is a new visit. Every second is real.

02

Tap to see the whole day

One tap flips the pill to today's total for that app. Tap again to come back. Each app remembers which one you prefer.

03

Hold to hide — it gets recorded

Press and hold and the pill goes away for this visit. The hide itself lands on your receipt. Sunk never nags; it just remembers.

What you get

Built to be left on.

Most screen-time apps get switched off within a week because they shout. Sunk is quiet enough to stay — and exact enough to matter.

00:00this visit

Live, to the second

The pill polls what is on screen once a second and nothing else. It costs about as much battery as a clock widget.

1:41today

Visit or whole day, per app

Instagram on "today", YouTube on "this visit" — each app keeps its own setting. The number you need, where you need it.

0

Swipes, counted

Minutes feel abstract. "412 swipes" does not. Switch it on for Reels or Shorts; double-taps and typing are left out. Close, not exact.

Never what you do, never who you are

No account. A small anonymous heartbeat tells us Sunk is alive. Never app names, never what is on your screen.

A receipt every night

Around 9:30 every night the day prints itself: every app, every visit, every hide, one total. Plain enough to share with a friend.

The receipt

The day,
itemised.

No scores, no streaks, no cartoon brain. A receipt is the most honest piece of paper there is — it only lists what you actually spent.

Two lines at the bottom translate the total into something you can feel: episodes of a sitcom, a walk, pages of a book. Free keeps a week of receipts; Pro keeps 90 days and prints the whole week every Sunday.

Plainly

What Sunk doesn't do.

Blockers sell willpower. Sunk sells the truth, and only that. Here is the rest, said straight.

It never blocks

No locks, no timers that lecture you, no breathing exercises. You can hide the pill any time. The hide is recorded, that is all.

No ads, ever

Free is free. One app, exact numbers, for as long as you like. Pro exists so we don't need advertisers.

No friends or leaderboards

Your number is yours. Share the receipt if you want to — Sunk won't do it for you.

No extra permissions

Sunk counts swipes, not reels. To see more, an app would need Android's accessibility access, which can read everything on screen. Sunk will not ask for it, so the swipe count is close rather than exact.

Plans

One app free. Every app, once.

The free tier shows real numbers, not blurred ones — that's how you know it works. Pro adds every other app on your phone.

Questions

Asked often.

Why does Sunk need "usage access" and "draw over other apps"?
Usage access is how Android tells any app which app is in front and for how long — it is the same data your phone's own Digital Wellbeing reads. Drawing over other apps is what lets the pill sit on top of Instagram. Sunk asks for nothing else, and explains each one in plain words before the system screen appears.
Does it drain the battery?
The pill checks what is on screen once a second and stops entirely when the screen is off. On our test phones it sits far below music streaming or GPS. If an overnight test ever shows otherwise, we will say so here.
Can I hide it?
Yes — press and hold. It disappears for that visit and comes back next time you open the app. The hide is written to the day's receipt, so you always know how often you looked away.
Does it count reels?
It counts swipes, which on Reels or Shorts is nearly the same thing. Android tells Sunk that the screen was touched, not how, so double-taps and typing are filtered out and the count is close rather than exact. Counting reels exactly would need accessibility access, which can read your whole screen; Sunk does not ask for it.
What happens to my data?
Your numbers stay on your phone. The only thing Sunk sends is one anonymous heartbeat, about 300 bytes, so we know the app is alive: an install id made from the phone (scrambled one way, never your name or number), app and Android version, phone model, country, plan, whether the pill is on, and today's total minutes. It is sent every few minutes while you are in an app you watch, and about once an hour otherwise. Never the names of the apps you watch, never what is on your screen, never an account. Email your install id (shown in Settings) and we delete everything tied to it. The full policy is at sunk.evrrun.com/privacy.html.
Which phones?
Android 8.1 and newer. Tested on Samsung first. Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and some other phones close background apps aggressively; if the pill stops appearing, set Sunk's battery use to "Unrestricted" in the phone's app settings.
